Witness Support officer, 23 months, Edinburgh, 216 per day

Parity Group are delighted to partner with our client, a public sector organisation, who are looking to recruit a Witness Support officer on a 23 month contract basis. You will be based in offices in Edinburgh.

You will be working at a trauma skilled level, demonstrating an understanding of the complex factors involved in engagement with witnesses and the impact of trauma. Primary responsibilities will include working alongside the Witness Support team to form part of the critical interface between those engaging with the organisation and providing continuity of contact with witnesses through the various stages of the inquiry.

You will receive a daily rate of 216.

I would love to hear from applicants who have experience in a fast-paced environment and skills including:

• Respond to incoming calls and emails via the Inquiry's dedicated phone line and mailbox
• Proactively manage a caseload of witnesses at different stages
• Plan and arrange the taking of statements via private sessions and statement reviews
• Be present during statement taking and be able to listen to the experiences of those who have been abused in care
• Manage the safety of witnesses while they give their evidence
• Maintain the professional boundaries of the role, whilst still providing appropriate assistance to witnesses
• Effectively manage and report risk of harm to police partners
• Plan, arrange and support witness attendance at Hearings
• Support Inquiry investigations, working closely with the Inquiry's legal team
