VSphere - VIRTUALISATION ARCHITECT - BASINGSTOKE- HYBRID- CONTRACT
Leading Managed Services Provider in the Private, Public and Defence Sector looking for a VSphere Virtualisation Architect to join and work as part of a large programme reporting to Project and Program Managers.
Your role will involve requirements analysis, and designing complex vSphere solutions, including project implementation and hands on administration of vSphere. The designs should inspire confidence with the customer in the overall solution, and also be practical and cost-effective. The candidate will work closely with other teams (network architects, test, service architects, etc) to ensure stability and growth.
Duration: 7 months + possible extension
**A national security clearance is required for this role but candidates not holding this level of clearance might be considered**
Mandatory Skills (Candidate must have all):
- Create and be responsible for HLD/LLD documentation, and ensure all designs produced are capable of passing review and governance.
- Extensive experience of at least vSphere 6.7 knowledge preferably vSphere 7, implementation, administration, use of and design. vRops knowledge and experience is preferable.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of resilient network solutions to support vSphere solutions.
- Good experience of enterprise SAN solutions and specifically iSCSI focused, and AD, DNS, DHCP, Routing, Vlans, RBAC, port groups with knowledge and impacts on a vSphere platform. Linux knowledge is good to have.
- Enterprise Application and Enterprise Management awareness, and experienced with producing BOMs, cost models.
- Experienced in analysis and trouble-shooting technical issues and supporting the implementation and test phases of the solution and successful handover to into service/support.
- Solid understanding of the project end-to-end cycle and experienced in working in a secure environment.
- Provide input to reports, when required, to the PM/Program, CTO.
- Able to take ownership and make quick decisions, and excellent communication skills.
