Role Overview
A vacancy for two test engineers has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Filton. You will join the Test Centre (1VM) and will contribute to the preparation and running of a series of test campaigns with the Fuel Test Facility. These test benches are typically used for the validation and certification of new system functions for the Fuel Systems within Airbus commercial aircraft. The role will involve shift work which potentially could include weekend or night shift rotations. The duration of the role is forecasted to be 12 months starting in mid-February 2023 and running until mid-February 2024 with the possibility of extension depending on test campaign progress. For the majority of the contract you will be expected to be based onsite due to the nature of the activity.
You will join a multi-disciplinary team: Test Means Architecture & Integration (1VMIF) who collectively support electrical, mechanical and fluid mechanical design and maintenance along with software development.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Design Office & key stakeholders to determine and capture the Test campaign requirements. This will involve understanding the system elements that correspond to the requirements to be tested. You will then help design test steps to both confirm conformance to requirements and discover any misbehaviours of the system.
- Collaborate with other areas of the test organisation to prepare Instrumentation, acquire results and write Test Results Analyses in response to Test Requests. This will involve agreeing measurement chains (Instrument type, installation and acquisition parameters), conducting tests, analysing system performance including interactions with other systems/physical events and presenting findings in a clear, concise manner backed up with demonstrations in plotted data (when applicable).
- Operate the test bench via the Fuel Facility Control room in order to modify the test profiles which the system under test is to be subjected to.
- Observe and apply all relevant Health & Safety rules to ensure safe operation of the test bench throughout the test campaign.
- Support test rig entry into service and test rig readiness reviews through the delivery of technical documentation (e.g. test request reports detailing the test steps and conditions to be performed/achieved).
