Technical Architect

Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Architect with applications experience to join their team. As a Technical Architect, you will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and development of datacentre systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and resiliency of the infrastructure, including public cloud hybridization.
 
Responsibilities:
- Implement, maintain, and develop datacentre systems, including server hosting platforms, storage, backups, and backup as a service (BaaS) platforms.
- Automate datacentre systems and integrate them with core business systems such as billing and reporting.
- Drive improvements in resiliency, security, and stability in all infrastructure areas, including public cloud hybridization.
- Provide consultancy and advice regarding hosting, BaaS, and monitoring services, including presales assistance.
- Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.
- Act as a 3rd line+ escalation point for Network Operations Centre (NOC) staff, investigating and resolving IT issues related to virtualization, backups & disaster recovery, and network monitoring.
- Provide mentorship and training to other members of the team.
- Act as an advocate to the business, supporting company initiatives.
- Maintain and update internal documentation.
 
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect or similar role.
- Strong knowledge and experience in the implementation, maintenance, and development of datacentre systems.
- Proficiency in server hosting platforms, virtual infrastructure, storage, and backups.
- Strong Azure Experience. 
- Experience with backup as a service (BaaS) platforms.
- Familiarity with self-service vCloud Director provisioning portal.
- Understanding of billing and reporting capabilities of cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of monitoring services and automation of datacentre systems.
- Experience in integrating datacentre systems with core business systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to mentor and train other team members.
