Supply Chain Manager Bristol or London or Cheltenham or Hampshire or Manchester 6 Month Contract 50 - 60 per hour (Inside IR35)


Our client delivers into Government, Defence and Critical National Infrastructure clients and have identified that Supply Chain is a key enabler in their growth ambitions!

How they manage their Supply Chain is requiring a different approach and this role therewith is expected to support our client s transformation agenda.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven supply chain professional to play a key part in supporting our client s strategy.

This is a hybrid role with 2 days on site per week.


The Key Responsibilities of a Supply Chain Manager:

  • Actively contributing to deliver a more strategic approach to how they select and manage their supply chain.
  • Help build our client s supplier ecosystem, support make/buy decisions and deliver procurement solutions.
  • Assist our client to adopt a more category management approach around key capabilities.
  • Lead the exploration and execution of opportunities for preferred supplier framework agreements in key categories where our client s practices cannot service the demand.
  • Support bids with sourcing and selection processes, executing bid specific supply chain strategies and sourcing for packages of work.
  • Develop and manage preferred supplier framework agreements.
  • Manage selected preferred supplier relations.
  • Implement a category management approach in selected capability areas.
  • Lead the identification of new framework opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and identify new suppliers as required.
  • Support and manage supply chain performance reviews.


Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Supply Chain Manager role, however you will not be expected to have everything:

  • Experience of working in a category management context, putting preferred supplier agreements in place, managing sourcing processes and supplier relations.
  • MCIPS qualified or working towards beneficial.
  • Strong technical procurement skills incl. strategic sourcing, contracting, negotiating and supplier management awareness and understanding of category advantageous.
  • Supplier relationship building skills and performance management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
