Job Description: The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer role at BAE Systems involves managing supplier quality activities for a key defense program.   • Promote quality excellence across both internal teams and the supplier network.
  • Support quality certification, planning, risk assessment and non-conformance management.
  • Lead or support audits, investigations, and improvement initiatives.

Skills Required:

  • Solid experience in supplier quality assurance, including auditing and improvement planning.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, EN9100, and FAI AS9102 standards.
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and PFMEA.
  • Experience using quality data systems and reporting tools.
  • Desirable but not essential: knowledge of welding, machining, or casting processes.

Location: Sheffield or Barrow (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week)

Contract Type: Contract (Inside IR35)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Travel: Some UK travel required

Overview: We are currently seeking a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting a key defence programme. This is a hybrid role based in either Sheffield or Barrow, with some travel to UK supplier sites as required.
