Stress Engineer - 44 per hour Inside IR35 - 6 Months (extensions highly likely) - Bristol - standard 35 hours across 5 days (working between 7-7) - Hybrid (60% onsite) - One stage virtual interview - Sector: Aerospace and Defence

Yolk Recruitment are searching for a Stress Engineer to work with a renowned Aerospace company that is at the forefront of space exploration and travel.

This is an exciting role that gives you the opportunity to work on cutting edge aerospace projects not seen anywhere else in the UK. Your primary role will be to support the wing analysis team.

Responsibilities

  • Performing and documenting F&DT(Fatigue & Damage Tolerance) assessment of repairs to damage reported by Operators and MROs, working closely with skilled design and static stress engineers to deliver optimum repair design solutions.
  • Creating, compiling and coordinating the documentation required for approval of the repair design allowing the aircraft to be released back into service.
  • Developing methods and processes for repair analysis, working with method experts and tool owners to enhance the analysis capability of the repairs teams.

Essential

  • Skilled aerospace F&DT engineer.
  • Collaborate well with other teams and individuals outside of the Customer Services' perimeter and external sub-contractors.
  • Experience of F&DT analysis of structures using a range of hand and computer methods.
  • An understanding of the fundamental methods of F&DT analysis and an ability to apply these methods.
  • Ability to liaise and negotiate with Design, Stress, Customer Services and suppliers.
  • Translate customer requirements into operational deliverables.

Desirable

  • Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience.
  • Be conversant with technical requirements for repair analysis.
  • Understanding of F&DT Tools and methods including ISAMI.
