Job Description: Hogarth Productions is looking for two artists: a contemporary dancer/choreographer and a sound artist/sound designer/sound editor to participate in a one-day symposium near Cambridge on July 18th. The project, titled Sound Playground, aims to develop an interactive sculptural sound installation through collaboration among diverse artists. Selected candidates will engage in presentations and discussions to explore the integration of their practices into a multi-disciplinary project focused on accessibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a short presentation about their practice.
  • Participate in group conversations to explore integration of their practice and/or technical expertise into the project.
  • Contribute to discussions on how an interactive sculpture can influence participant engagement.

Skills Required:

  • Experience in contemporary dance or choreography.
  • Experience as a sound artist, sound designer, or sound editor.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with relevant software/technology.

Hogarth Productions is seeking two artists: 1) A contemporary dancer / choreographer with experience in collaborative work 2) A a sound artist, sound designer or sound editor – to attend a one-day symposium, near Cambridge on July 18th. Applicants must be available for this date. Sound Playground is the working title of a new 3-phase project being developed by Hogarth Productions. By the end of phase 3, we will have developed an interactive sculptural sound installation suitable for touring. In phase 1, we will gather together a diverse group of artists including visual artists, sound designers, contemporary dancers, programmers and fabricators for one day. This initial phase of the project will be spent understanding how technology can help us in the project, explore peoples’ different disciplines, begin to perceive how the multi-disciplinary team might work together and consider how we can ensure that the work is accessible to people with disabilities and SEND participants. The selected artists will be required to Deliver a short presentation about their practice Participate in group conversations to explore how their practice and / or technical expertise might integrate into this multi disciplinary project Contribute to group discussions that explore how an interactive sculpture can influence the physicality of participants, drawing them towards collective engagement You will receive a full brief in advance of the event.
