My client a a FinTech start-up, financially secure, offering greenfield work with cutting edge tech, and they're on the hunt for a Senior contract Golang Developer to join the team.

The Company

With their new app, you can hold multiple currencies (local, foreign and digital/crypto) in a single account, and make payments using any of those currencies. This is unlike anything else on the market at the moment and means that users bypass exchange fees, transaction fees etc., and also ensures they always get the best value for any purchase or currency exchange. Most importantly, it's an account that makes cryptocurrency far more accessible for everyone, and helps people who are potentially sceptical really take advantage. They're headed up by the former co-founder of a leading digital bank, and have secured triple their funding targets in their first round of funding. They're a small but highly talented team who are now scaling their engineering capability.

The Role

Coming on board as a Golang engineer, you will be working closely with mobile and product teams to work on the build and delivery of the mobile app, as well as the Back End services that keep the company running. You'll be very hands on in this role, leading from the front and promoting best coding practice. You'll also champion Agile and DevOps as much as possible. Reporting directly into the CTO, you'll also have a wonderful chance to really put your stamp on a greenfield, early stage start-up - to drive the culture and the tech strategy as well as working on one of the most exciting apps in the FinTech space right now.

What we're looking for

  • An exceptionally strong software engineer, but you've moved into Golang development primarily for the last 2-3 years or so
  • experience working across mobile and web apps, as well as building Back End services
  • Thorough understanding of Agile, DevOps, TDD, cloud deployments (AWS or GCP) and MicroServices Architecture
  • Ideally a python/Ruby/Java background - or you should have a very strong understanding of OOP.
  • Experience in the FinTech/Start-up environment is not essential, but your application will definitely stand out if you have this experience.
