This is a Manchester based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Technology Client that is working on their largest digital and technological transformation program.

The Senior Test Engineer identifies and promotes improvements to engineering practices and ways of working. They serve as the go-to person for major and complex work projects, contribute to implementing strategic test engineering initiatives, and collaborate with the team to proactively prevent defects and rework. The Senior Test Engineer advocates for customers, ensuring that non-functional testing is planned and executed, and ensures the delivery of the right features in the right manner.

Knowledge and Requirements:

• Experience in Back End testing, APIs, Frontend, Test planning, Execution, end-to-end software lifecycle
• Tools Selenium, Language: Java
• Ability to coach, guide, and enhance the performance of stakeholders and colleagues at all levels
• Shares experience, knowledge, and work approaches appropriately
• Communicates effectively with various stakeholders, including peers, product managers, managers, team members, and the developer and test community.
• Engages in different communication types: cooperation, information, and persuasion
• Demonstrates frequent and continuous communication with stakeholders
• Holds a Master's degree in the relevant field
• Possesses advanced knowledge with 5-8 years of relevant job experience.
• Experience working with teams in a continuous deployment and DevOps environment
• Highly skilled in best practices for testing microservices and domain-based systems
• Combination of communication skills, educational background, job knowledge, and specialized skills relevant to continuous deployment, DevOps, and testing methodologies

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures features are designed and implemented in a testable way
• Guides product teams throughout the entire lifecycle
• Guides junior team members in this aspect
• Enables product teams to deliver quality products at pace
• Advocates for verifying and testing work in isolated independent units
• Embeds testing early in the lifecycle
• Guides junior team members in these practices
• Advocates for user experience by raising the team's ability to build applications with clear non-functional requirements
• Ensures clear non-functional requirements such as performance, security, accessibility, and usability are addresses
• Ensures teams adhere to non-functional requirement
• Performs tests such as load-testing, accessibility testing, or security testing
• Guides junior team members in these testing practices
