Outline Job Profile:
The senior test software engineering role requires a Certified NI LabVIEW Developer (CLD) with greater than 10 years' experience developing code in the Test and Measurement field. It is preferable that the candidate is also qualified as a LabVIEW Developer Architect (CLA) to provide input into the architectural design of other software projects taking place within AIT.
The primary role is to continue with the LabVIEW test software development for the remaining MTS tests, following the architecture set out for the MTS. Along with the test development the role requires development test support alongside an RF engineer to validate the measurement performance of each test and the efficiency of each test.
Produce MTS software design documentation and test procedures to show adherence to the standard software development process.
On delivery of the MTS software the role requires software support in the UK (Portsmouth) and in France (Toulouse). This may include test investigations, reporting evidence and attending customer meetings.
After delivery of the first MTS, the role will require support for future enhancements to the MTS to meet additional test requirements. This will entail some architectural LabVIEW design and test coding to meet the new challenging test requirements.
Responsible for the configuration control and quality of software delivery adhering closely to Airbus and industry standard quality methods.
The position will include general support within AIT for other LabVIEW products including; improving maintainability, improving performance and increasing product functionality.
As an experienced LabVIEW Developer and Architect, the candidate shall be expected to support and advise other LabVIEW developers within AIT, both on a formal and an informal basis.
The position requires the person take an active view on suggestions for related R & D topics, development of generic code (style guides/generic drivers/generic test design) and management support in future product developments.
The role requires the person to be self-motivated to work alone and to manage his / her time efficiently to meet the project schedule dates, whilst also supporting the MTS development team in other tasks, when required.
Subsidiary Activities:
Work closely with engineering teams within AIT and within the Telecoms Payload business division
Liaise directly with external customer to report progress on software development and meeting customer requirements
Regular reporting to the Project NRE manager and to the AIT manager
Qualifications and skills:
Educated to Bachelors Degree or equivalent in a computer science, Digital or Electronics Engineering subject
Certified NI LabView Developer (CLD) with greater than 5 years' experience developing code in the Test and Measurement field - preferable that the candidate is also qualified as a LabView Developer Architect (CLA)
Have a working knowledge of other software languages and test instrument control interfaces (inc SCPI, SNMP)
Good Knowledge of RF test methods typically used within the Satellite industry
Knowledge of satellite technology and satellite architecture
Team player able to integrate easily and quickly into AIT teams and proactive in creating collaborative relationship with internal customer (telecom business division)
Willing to take responsibility for AIT Test System delivery and support
Able to work autonomously in a pro-active and responsible manner
