As a Senior Planning Officer, you will be responsible for providing expert planning advice, handling planning applications, developing policies, and delivering related services.

You will also be responsible for managing a personal case load of non-major and other planning applications and making determinations in line with the Council s approved delegation scheme.

In addition, you will be responsible for developing and implementing both statutory and non-statutory policies and strategies, including all aspects of statutory planning policy.

This includes preparing evidence documents, conducting data analysis and research, and reviewing development plans, including Neighbourhood Plans.

As a Senior Planning Officer, you will engage in pre-application discussions and negotiations with developers to identify requirements, interpret policies, and enhance proposals.

You will also serve as the Council s expert witness for planning/enforcement appeals and/or public examinations.
