Job Specification:

Our client are looking for a Senior Naval Architect with good skills and experience in propulsor design and assessment. The role requires an excellent understanding of Naval Architecture principals and the ability to use that knowledge together with sound engineering judgement to solve our customer's important problems. In particular, knowledge of the methods and tools used within hydrodynamic design and assessment is desirable.

The primary focus of the job will be the delivery of technical projects relating to surface ship and submarine hydrodynamic subject areas. The work will include extensive use of industry standard or bespoke numerical simulation tools and our large hydrodynamic facilities.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Senior Naval Architect
• Expansive knowledge of defence sector
• SC clearance
• Highly motivated, dynamic with a positive attitude and values of integrity, collaboration and performance.
• Keen desire to develop and grown their technical skills and understanding.
• Good knowledge of data analysis including experience of programming (Matlab, Python etc.).
• Ability to develop alternative strategies to overcome issues and innovate to improve the overall value to the customer.
• Good communication skills, both written and presentational. Including the ability to exchange complex information.
• Good team working, organisation, communication and attention to detail.
