Job Description: The role of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer involves designing fabrications and static components for turbomachinery applications. This contract position is expected to last between 6 to 12 months and requires the creation of detailed 3D models and engineering drawings. The successful candidate will also engage with suppliers and ensure designs meet industry standards and customer specifications. Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
- Generate engineering drawings.
- Perform engineering design calculations, e.g., tolerance stack-up analysis, bolted joint.
- Preparation of engineering design reports.
- Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Experience designing castings, machined parts, and fabrications.
- Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5.
- Proficiency in NX software is essential.
- Strong skills in mechanical calculations.
- Experience designing turbomachinery static components, casings, piping, and structures would be helpful but not essential.
- Experience using Teamcenter or similar PLM systems.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter.
