Are you an accomplished Senior Software Engineer looking for a dynamic opportunity in the heart of London's financial hub? We are representing a premier Global Investment Bank in search of a talented individual to fill the role of Senior Software Engineer within their Risk Management Technology group.
Primary Responsibilities:
Development Mastery: Leverage your profound expertise in either Java or Python, backed by a robust 8+ years of application development experience. Assume a leadership role in crafting, refining, and testing server-side components and API implementations, ensuring seamless integration.
Strategic Collaboration: Engage closely with a diverse team, including business analysts, project managers, fellow developers, and stakeholders. Utilize various programming disciplines on Linux/Microsoft platforms to implement business requirements effectively.
AWS Prowess: Showcase your hands-on experience with AWS services, covering the spectrum from Containerization (Docker) to Amazon EKS, Lambda, EC2, and S3.
Full Lifecycle Management: Utilize version control tools like GIT, SourceTree, and collaborative platforms like Jira to navigate the end-to-end development cycle-from requirement analysis to system/module deployment.
Financial Domain Insight: Capitalize on your background in the financial services industry, ideally with exposure to market risk or counterparty credit risk applications, to contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
Essential Proficiencies:
- Advanced proficiency in either Java or Python, supported by a minimum of 6 years of application development.
- Sound understanding of APIs, coupled with expertise in modular object-oriented design and development.
- Proven experience implementing AWS services, encompassing Docker, Amazon EKS, Lambda, EC2, and S3.
- Competence in version control using GIT, Bitbucket, and SourceTree, and familiarity with Jira for comprehensive development cycle management.
- Strong SQL and/ or Oracle skills.
- Hold a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
Preferred Expertise:
- Previous exposure to the financial services industry, ideally with experience in market risk or counterparty credit risk applications.
- Familiarity with the intricacies of the market risk domain, including VaR, PnL vectors, and various portfolio VaR calculation methods.
