  • We are currently recruiting for an experience Senior HR Advisor to join our healthcare clients organisation located in Kingston on a Hybrid basis. You will carry out a vital role championing the provision of a HR service that is focused on supporting the service lines to achieve outcomes based on the provision of a quality service to patients and is line with the vision, purpose, priorities and objectives of Trusts.

    You will be supported by the HR Advisory Manager in managing and developing the team, ensuring the service provided is efficient, customer focused, provides consistent advice and guidance in accordance with the Trusts objectives and the Workforce strategy.

    As Senior HR Advisor, you will have specialist knowledge in employment law and be able to advise on complex employee relations matters, alongside the HR Advisory Manager. You will assist leading the team in supporting and guiding managers to work in line with Trust policies and procedures.

    Therefore, experience of managing and developing teams, and being able to advise on complex employee relations matters such as grievances, disciplinarys etc, is essential.

    Pay Rates: Up to 22 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay or Up to 24 per hour Umbrella

    Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Act as a Team Leader for the HR Advisory team, supporting the HR Advisory Manager in managing the team and allocating the workload.
    • Assist the HR Advisory Manager in allocating the workload across the team fairly and consistently.
    • Assist in leading the HR Advisory team in providing an accurate, efficient, timely and customer focused service to the organisation in line with both Trusts employment Terms & Conditions and Policies & Procedures.
    • Deputise for the HR Advisory Manager in their absence or when required
    • Provide advice, guidance and support to managers on all terms and conditions including Agenda for Change, employment law, contract queries, performance issues, absence management and the application of all HR policies in line with best practice.
    • Analyse exit questionnaires as required to investigate reasons for leaving and feedback any issues of concern to the appropriate manager.
    • Advise on job descriptions and associated grading/banding issues and participate in job evaluation panels.
    • Assist with the design and delivery of training to line managers on the application of HR policies and procedures and HR hot topics.
    • Update ESR in relation to professional registrations e.g. NMC, HCPC, and ensure managers are aware of any employee who does not have up to date registration.
    • Support the HR Advisory Manager in arranging and delivering HR training sessions for managers
    • Advise managers on complex Employee Relations matters and supporting them through investigations, in line with the Trusts Policies and Procedures.
    • Work closely with Trade Unions in addressing staff disputes regarding employment matters.
    • Review investigation findings with managers for each case, to establish next course of action in line with Trust policies and procedures, using best practice and knowledge of Employment Law.
    • Assess and recommend courses of action on complex HR issues, analysing a range of options in line with the Trusts policies and procedures.
    • Evaluate information received during an investigation and supporting managers in presenting findings within the Trust investigation reporting format guidelines.
    • Act as the HR Representative, supporting managers in formal meetings and panels arranged under Trust policies and procedures.
    • Provide professional advice and support to managers on matters relating to disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, performance management and liaise with Trade Union Representatives as necessary.
    • Provide timely, consistent, accurate and appropriate advice and support for managers in carrying out investigations and to advise at disciplinary/grievance panel hearings.
    • Provide support to managers in relation to consultations and organisational change.
    • To update ESR in a timely manner in relation to all employee relations cases to enable accurate reports to be run.
    • To coach and support managers in adopting good HR practice by offering effective HR advice through the interpretation of current employment & case law, best practice and Trust policies.
    • To undertake and support HR project work.
    • Develop and revise HR policies and processes based current legislation, best practice and operational needs of the organisation
    • To ensure an up to date knowledge base is shared throughout the HR Team regarding changes in employment legislation,

    Experience/Skills/Qualifications

    • Associate CIPD qualification, Degree or equivalent sufficient level experience gained within the HR/ER field
    • Generalist HR experience which involves advising managers on all HR issues
    • Experience handling employee relations issues e.g. Grievance, Disciplinary etc.
    • Experience working closely with Trade Unions in addressing staff disputes regarding employment matters.
    • Experience of using HR databases to record and access information
    • Experience of working within an HR function in the NHS/Healthcare/Public Sector
    • Experience of using ESR (preferred)
    • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of staff / management / union
    • Up to date knowledge of employment law
