The Senior Finance Manager at Missing People plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations and resources of the organisation. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Senior Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring financial integrity and compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements, thus providing a high-quality support service to our charity. The Senior Finance Manager will work closely with colleagues across the charity on financial planning and forecasting, providing information suitable for financial and non-financial colleagues and Trustees.
Key Accountabilities
Financial Reporting
Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including income statement with explanation of key variances, balance sheet, forecasts, and cash flow statements/forecasts.
Financial Planning and Budgeting
Collaborate with the Director of Finance to develop and implement the annual budget, ensuring alignment with the charity's goals and objectives.
Transactions
Ensure monthly payroll and pension transactions are processed accurately and promptly.
Donor Reporting
Prepare accurate and timely donor reports to meet funding requirements and maintain positive donor relationships.
Qualifications
Professional accounting qualification needed such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
Experience
Significant experience working in a finance management role within a charity or non-profit organisation.
Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Experience in preparing and presenting management accounts, financial statements, and donor reports.
Abilities, Skills And Knowledge
Strong knowledge of financial and management accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in using accounting software and financial management tools.
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting
Familiarity with relevant tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting requirements (especially Gift Aid) in the UK
