Position description

As a Requirements and Acceptance (R&A) Engineer, you will be required to assist in the development and management of project requirements and assist the Subject Matter Experts to develop evidence to demonstrate to the customer that the requirement have been met.

Main Activity

Provide engineering expertise to the development and maintenance of project requirements. This will include verification and validation details associated with the requirements. Also, provide engineering expertise to the process of customer acceptance.

Accountabilities

Management and maintenance of requirements using requirements development practices

Management and maintenance of requirement compliance details

Management and maintenance of the requirement’s associated Assurance / Acceptance characteristics

Act as the point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and issues and to maintain awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives

Provide help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working and their development

Make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority

Maintaining a level of SQEP for the role through personal and professional development

Demonstrably working towards professional certification with a relevant professional body

Qualifications/Knowledge

Degree or higher in relevant subject e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Maths

Other qualification equivalent to Degree or higher in relevant subject e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Maths

Experience equivalent to Degree or higher in relevant subject e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Maths

High level of understanding of the engineering lifecycle

High level of understanding of requirements development and management practices

High level of competence and capability with requirements management tools and techniques

Good understanding of configuration management principles

High level of competence and capability with Microsoft Office suite
