Job description - the role
AMS is the world's leading provider of Talent Acquisition and Management Services. Our contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) service acts as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provides professional interim and temporary resources. We partner with Arup to support contingent recruitment processes. On behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer for a 6 month contract ideally based in Cardiff / Bristol / Winchester on a hybrid basis but can consider a fully remote arrangement.
Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience
About the Opportunity:
We are looking for people who are passionate about technical excellence and providing an outstanding service to our clients.
We are looking for curiosity, personal drive, and technical know-how. You will have an engineering background in the UK water sector or risk management authority sector.
In this role you will:
You will technically manage projects to suit your skill set and preferred development needs. As a senior member of an established and growing team, you will mentor and delegate work amongst engineers and other specialists, supporting them with your expertise.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Possess a relevant degree and Chartered Engineer status.
- Proven technical design skills for pressure pipeline schemes, and working on pumping station projects.
- Have worked with outline and detailed design of potable water and sewer rising main pressurised pipelines.
- Skills in the design of gravity sewer infrastructure projects.
- Proven skills in the commercial management of design projects including preparing fee proposals, preparing programs, monthly reporting and submissions, AFPs, managing and coordinating design teams.
- High competence with pressure pipeline hydraulics, experience of using GIS and 3D CAD packages.
