Client happy to consider candidates with senior architect experience or senior architectural technician with technical knowledge and experience in a supporting role.
Responsibilities:
- Leading or supporting architectural teams at a senior level in the production of architectural and technical designs, and in the production of presentation material; illustrated reports; planning applications; building warrant applications; technical drawings, schedules and specifications. (This role will vary depending on the scale of project and particular skillset and experience of the applicant.)
- Leading or supporting multi-disciplinary design teams in the delivery of major capital projects.
- Managing the flow of information, both within the design team, and also distribution to client and construction teams.
- Liaising with planning officers and building control officers to ensure that submitted applications are processed efficiently.
- Leading / supporting capital projects through design and construction stages in accordance with the RIBA plan of work.
- Administering various forms of construction contract, including carrying out regular site inspections and chairing progress meetings (where the applicant is the lead officer).
- Providing assistance to the Assistant Group Manager and senior architectural officers as required.
- Assisting with the on-the-job training of other members of the team, to develop and improve their knowledge and skills, for the benefit of their professional development and of the projects.
- Potential workload will include projects from the organisation and include new build and upgrade of community facilities, the refurbishment and adaptation of listed buildings and a programme of new waste & recycling facilities.
Essential Skills:
- Educated to degree or other appropriate qualification in building design related subject.
- Good architectural design skills.
- Good technical design skills.
- Ability to lead / support a multi-disciplinary design team depending on project scale.
- Good written communication skills using Microsoft Office software.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Competent in the use of Microstation.
- Good drawing and visual presentation skills.
- Good written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of architect s and lead designer s duties at all stages of the design and construction process.
- Good knowledge of planning process and Building Standards.
- Knowledge of current good practice and legislation in relation to building design.
- Good construction knowledge.
- Good knowledge of legal and contractual issues in relation to construction.
- Good knowledge and experience of Health & Safety legislation applicable to design and construction.

- Membership of a relevant professional institute.
- Competent in the following software packages: Revit, NBS Specification Writer, Photoshop, SketchUp, InDesign, Powerpoint, Excel and Microsoft Teams
