Prospero Teaching are looking for a resilient and experienced Secondary educator to start asap in one of our inspirational PRU settings in Hartlepool from January for the remainder of the Academic Year. For the right candidate, there is the strong possibility that the role will become permanent.

The role will involve planning and delivering a range of Subjects to small classes of Secondary aged pupils who have a range of SEN and challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will also have the support of outstanding Teaching Assistants within lessons. The pupils are not in mainstream Education currently and do display challenging behaviour. A key part of the role, therefore, will be to build positive relationships with pupils to support them to engage with their learning, manage their behaviour and inspire them to become the best possible versions of themselves.

This role will involve:

  • Planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons to small Secondary classes that inspires pupils and allows all pupils to make progress.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
  • Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
  • Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
  • Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.

This role requires:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • QTS
  • Strong subject knowledge
  • A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
  • Experience of Teaching within the UK
  • A genuine passion for Teaching young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education.
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • A commitment to CPD
