Join our dynamic team at the Communication Products Group in Portsmouth! We're on the lookout for a talented Sub-Contract RF-Microwave Equipment Design Engineer. Our Client spearheads the development of cutting-edge RF and Digital Equipment for telecommunications satellites, and we need your expertise to drive innovation in this field.

In this role, you'll specialise in crafting RF equipment like Frequency Converters, Beamformers, and Frequency References. Your focus will also encompass interfaces to ADC and DAC devices, as well as high-speed digital interfacing at speeds surpassing 10Gbps. Knowledge of SSPAs & LNAs would give you an edge. Our Client is a proven global leader in advanced Payload Equipment, powering the telecommunications satellite industry forward.

Responsibilities: As a key member, you'll:

  • Design and offer manufacturing support for various equipment, including novel frequency converter products. This involves analyzing RF/DC performance, assessing mechanical implementation, and overseeing production tests.
  • Dive into detailed design work involving amplifier matching circuits, filters, mixer circuits, and overall circuit line-up using tools like Keysight ADS.
  • Conduct development testing, manage design activities, BoM, and product documentation.
  • Present equipment analyses at both internal and external design reviews.
  • Support product production by reviewing results and troubleshooting issues from sub-circuit to equipment levels.
  • Engage in technical liaison with customers and partner companies.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in RF electronics or a related field.
  • Experience in high-reliability RF-Microwave circuit design.
  • Proficiency in using RF and microwave test equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with experts across various technical and operational domains.

Desired Skills: It would be advantageous if you have:

  • Recent familiarity with RF CAD modeling tools like Keysight ADS.
  • Knowledge of Signal Integrity effects in differential high-speed digital signaling.
  • The capability to produce clear and concise technical design documentation.

This role primarily operates from our office in Portsmouth but entails occasional travel within the UK, Europe, and North America/Canada.
