We are looking for a part qualified Financial Reporting Accountant to join a successful law firm in their Cardiff office on a 12 month FTC.

Reporting to the Head of Finance (Cardiff), the Reporting Accountant will be involved in various long term financial reporting projects and will have responsibility for the completion of various weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks.

Key responsibilities as the Reporting Accountant will include:

  • Coordinating the monthly Flash Report and Management Accounts pack as part of the month end reporting cycle
  • Producing monthly management reports
  • Managing and maintaining fee earner records in the firm s database
  • Managing client reporting processes
  • Leading the annual review of charge out rates and producing the Revenue & Chargeable Value phasing file
  • Producing the data sets required for the annual Partner appraisal process and Partnership Remuneration Committee packs, alongside the Associate bonus data
  • Producing annual profitability packs
  • Dealing with ad-hoc financial reporting queries

What we re looking for:

  • Part qualified or undertaking study (either through ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in a similar reporting accountant role
  • A good understanding of practice management / accounting systems (e.g Elite / SAP)
  • Strong IT skills and excellent working knowledge of MS Excel (Lookup, Pivot and Chart functions), data extraction and analysis techniques
  • Experience using MS Reporting Services or similar applications is highly advantageous
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Confident communication skills
  • Natural, proactive problem-solver
  • Demonstrable ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Available imminently and able to commit to a 12 month FTC
  • Eligible to work in the UK
