Location: Reading & Remote

Flint UK is seeking an experienced VMware Technologies Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of traditional VMware technologies, including vCenter, vCloud Director, vSAN, NSX-T, and also have exposure to Kubernetes with a focus on VMware-specific Kubernetes solutions such as Tanzu Kubernetes Grid.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage VMware infrastructure components, including vCenter, vCloud Director, vSAN, and NSX-T.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in VMware-related projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective VMware solutions.
  • Work on the integration of VMware technologies with container orchestration platforms, with a focus on Tanzu Kubernetes Grid.
  • Implement and manage Tanzu Kubernetes Grid clusters and provide support for Kubernetes workloads.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of VMware best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in VMware technologies and Kubernetes within the VMware ecosystem.
  • Provide guidance on VMware-related security practices and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate VMware technologies into CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a VMware Technologies Expert, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing production-grade VMware infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of vCenter, vCloud Director, vSAN, NSX-T, and other VMware technologies.
  • Experience with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid and exposure to VMware-specific Kubernetes solutions.
  • Familiarity with traditional virtualization concepts and technologies.
  • Solid understanding of networking and security principles in VMware environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in VMware technologies.
  • Experience with other VMware products and solutions.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with other container orchestration tools and technologies.
