Senior Unreal Engine Programmer (C++,engine 5) – Remote

Day Rate: £200 – £400

Duration: 3 – 6 months

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Unreal Engine 5 programmer to join our team for the duration of an upcoming project. The project will be to work alongside an accomplished game studio, directly in their Unreal code base, to produce and deliver auxiliary game features. These features will include a wide variety of areas covering: 3D assets, rendering and UI

Responsibilities:

• * Contribute to the full development process of each feature, from initial concept, through design to implementation, testing and bug fixing


• * Collaboratively design and implement functionality based on project high level concepts and goals


• * Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code by following industry standard best practices


• * Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications


• * Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to address and mitigate these problems


• * Collaborate closely with QA and publishing teams to help deliver the final product


• Requirements:


• * Excellent up-to-date knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 or 5, including proficiency with C++ code and UE Visual Scripting Blueprints.


• * Ability to breakdown and develop game features and subsystems


• * Ability to research evolving game standards, graphics and media technologies independently


• * Ability to join and quickly adapt to an established team agile workflow


• * Experience with 3D geometry and mathematical concepts


• * Experience with writing shader code


• * Experience optimizing memory and storage space usage


• * Ability to write clean, readable, and easily maintainable code


• * Proficient knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git and Perforce

Advantageous skills:

• * Prior experience on a published titles


• * Appreciation of UI/UX design and concepts


• * Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Bash or similar


• * Experience with console development.


• * Unreal Engine 4/5 Graphics Pipeline
