Role definition:
This position requires a person with experience in PLC based controls development to work on Fuel Processing Products.
The role includes working with Process Engineers to define control narratives and software requirements, implementing this control in PLC software, documenting, and supporting the verification of the products.
The applicant should thrive in working in an innovative design environment, be able to use their own initiative both working independently and as a member of a team of engineers and scientists.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the Process Engineer(s) to develop and maintain Control Narratives for Fuel Processing Products.
- Generation of code for PLCs, HMIs, etc to implement the control of electrical systems.
- Defining, generating, and maintaining documentation for PLC Controls to support their compliance, and validation in accordance with product specifications.
- Supporting and collaborating with other design engineers and scientists to ensure the correct product integration and verification/commissioning.
- Providing support for design activities including; Safety Reviews, HAZOP, Cause & Effect, SIL reviews.
- Undertaking fault analysis, fault correction and product support with hands on testing and evaluation using a range of test equipment.
Essential:
- Hands on experience in programing, debugging and commissioning PLC based control systems, in particular Siemens.
- Working knowledge of PLC hardware/software and electrical systems, including ability to understand and interpret electrical schematics/wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of functional safety to EN 61508.
- Basic knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Basic IT/networking skills and proficient in Microsoft Office.
