Working with a leading nuclear consultancy, NRL are looking to recruit a Senior EC&I E3D Designer to support a major decommissioning project. The work is based out of Warrington, but for the right candidate, remote work with occasional site visits will be possible. This is an inside IR35 contract role.
The Role:
You will be responsible for production of engineering drawings and designs that meet the specifications required and conform to project and client standards.
Specific duties will include:
- Development of layout, diagrams and schematic designs using AutoCAD for drawing production.
- Developing and integrating design with the Aveva E&I software packages and PDMS, including noding and routing.
- Development, for their allocated Area, CE&I installation designs using PDMS including equipment layout, cable containment design and development.
- Checks the work of other designers in the team
- Liaison with construction engineers to ensure resolution of installation issues and to inform of forthcoming changes etc.
- Following established project procedures for design development and control.
- Liaise with other designers across the project to ensure consistency and share learning
Experience and Qualifications:
- Must be experienced and fluent in the use of Aveva E&I (or E3D more recently).
- Must be highly proficient in the use of AutoCAD for drawing production.
- ONC/D or suitable installation design experience combined with Aveva training and recent active experience
- Must have the ability to develop CE&I designs to a high level of detail from guidance given by senior engineers, conceptual sketches and outline information.
- Must have a background and experience in design engineering in relation to hardware designs, cabling infrastructure and other general CE&I deliverables.
- Experience and knowledge of using and developing the PDMS Model is desirable.
- Have a working knowledge of design methods and techniques in the CE&I discipline.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
