Senior Business Analyst - Inside IR35

Contract Term: 6 Months - possible extension

Contracting Authority: Crown Prosecution Service

Location: Remote – with some travel across England as required.

You will be a key member of an Agile delivery team which develops applications and services that assist in the advancement of CPS Digital Capability.  Leading larger or more complex projects, you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to understand their ways of working and processes, and the context in which they need our applications to operate for them.  Creating process maps, requirements documentation & wireframes. You will create user stories that remove ambiguity and create a common understanding of what needs to be built between by the developers.

You will provide a bridge between the development team and stakeholders throughout the full delivery lifecycle, ensuring they focus on what is most important.  You work will support Senior Leaders, Product Owners and Governance Boards, enabling them to decide on the relative value, and therefore priority of projects to be delivered.

As a Senior Business Analyst your main responsibilities would be: 

• Assess & advise on the practicability of alternatives, marrying up technical limitations with operational realities.
• Identifying the strategic implications of future business changes - applying appropriate modelling & analysis tools, methods and standards in an intelligent / effective way.
• Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies. 
• Understanding & analysing user and business needs.
• Ensuring outcomes are aligned with service vision and business strategy, contributing to the link between current and future business models and delivering to business architecture.
• Facilitating collaboration & leading effective communication with all stakeholders.
• Maintaining technical awareness at a level where alternatives can be analysed, modelled & classified.
• Evaluating requirements against the present state and the target state, identifying opportunities to develop successful business requirements.
• Coordinating the work of systems analysis to ensure business needs are translated into solutions against identified timelines and working with technical leads to ensure business needs are translated into the technical solutions.
• Applying recognised methodologies and ensure the delivery of change is made against a fully auditable process.

You’ll have relevant experience in:

• Demonstrable Senior Business Analysis experience within Agile, Digital environments.
• Mentoring & supporting other Business Analysts / supporting & coaching the Product Owner on Agile practices.
• Effective Resource Management – time, equipment and any other assets or supplies necessary to perform their role - Ensuring value for money is achieved in the use of travel, subsistence and other CPS resources.
• Autonomy to take informed decisions based on analysis and review in relation to new processes and systems. 
• Ability to work to achieve efficiency through digital working - seeking ways to improve working practices and systems.
• Pivotal in progressing BA capabilities.
