The role:
The specialist will take the lead on running, planning and facilitating workshops to elicit the key information and attributes to document Services. This will be captured using standard Lean Sigma and BPMN methodologies.
The specialist will provide technical knowledge and expertise around process mapping, service integration, business process re-engineering and the elimination of wait time, cycle time and any other inefficiencies or waste in order to improve customer experience.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Process and Service Mapping approaches
- Knowledge of Service definition, Service Mapping and Process Mapping
- Knowledge of Lean/Sigma Principles
Experience:
- Relevant and specific experience as a Process Analyst/Process Mapper, preferably within a Law Enforcement or Government environment.
- Experience of understanding, analysing and documenting business processes, designs, requirements, activities and IT systems ('as is' and 'to be').
- Experience of Lean process mapping and re-engineering - including production of appropriately structured, validated maps and supporting documentation.
Skills:
- Agile working (Practitioner) - you can identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes. You know how to help the team decide the best approach. You can help teams to manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work and work to agreed Minimum Viable Product, print and scope.
- Business analysis (Working) - you can investigate problems and analyse options for new and existing services. You know how to provide recommendations to solutions. You can work with stakeholders to identify objectives, opportunities and potential benefits available.
- Business Improvement Processes (Practitioner) - you know how to analyse current services and processes, and can identify and implement opportunities to optimise these. You can help evaluate and establish requirements using relevant techniques such as gap analysis.
- Business Modelling (Working) - you can use a wide range of techniques to model situations confidently. You know how to gain the necessary agreement needed from SMEs and stakeholders, ensuring they review the results to fix any issues.
- Enterprise and business architecture (Working) - You can understand and apply the current target operating model to work.
- Innovation (Working) - Ability to work innovatively and apply this to your work.
- Stakeholder relationship management (Working) - You know how to identify important stakeholders, tailoring communication to their needs, and work with teams to build relationships whilst also meeting user needs. You have the ability to take opposing views to build consensus. You understand how to work with stakeholders and contribute to improving these relationships, using evidence to explain decisions made.
- Testing (business analysis) (Working) - you can review requirements, specifications and define test conditions. You can identify issues and risks associated with work whilst being able to analyse and report test activities and results.
- User Focus (Working) - you can identify needs and engage with users or stakeholders to collate user needs evidence. You can understand and define research that fits user needs. You can use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes.
