Responsibilities:
As a SAS Platform Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall availability, performance, and security of SAS tools and software environments.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Deployment Expertise:
- Demonstrate deployment experience and skills on CENT OS.
- Manage the deployment of SAS tools across development, QA, production, and disaster recovery environments.
- SAS Software Administration:
- Perform SAS software administration tasks, including software configuration, updates, patches, hotfixes, and license renewals on Linux/Redhat (RHEL) platforms.
- Execute capacity planning, provide metrics, and offer performance tuning recommendations for SAS Platforms.
- Platform Performance and Reliability:
- Take actions to achieve and maintain optimal SAS platform performance, reliability, and availability.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in production systems, providing effective solutions.
- Security Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain platform security using SAS Metadata, Linux operating systems, LDAP/Active Directory, and data warehousing environments.
- Manage metadata identities, users, groups, and roles to ensure secure access.
- Configuration and Testing:
- Utilize SAS Management Console to define connections to data sources, libraries, and metadata objects.
- Configure and test communication between SAS and multiple relational databases.
- Subject Matter Expertise:
- Act as a SAS subject matter expert and liaison to SAS users and IT teams.
- Serve as an escalation point for production and platform issues, collaborating with SAS Technical Support to resolve outstanding issues.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with storage, server, LDAP, database, and other IT administrators to support ongoing operations and meet business needs through the SAS environment.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Create and update policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- On-Call Production Support:
- Provide on-call production support through a rotation schedule to address any platform-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in SAS platform administration and deployment on CENT OS.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux/Redhat (RHEL) platforms and SAS software.
- Strong understanding of SAS Metadata, LDAP/Active Directory, and data warehousing environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
