Our Care Connected (Part of the Sussex Health and Care Partnership Digital Programme) gives health and care professionals and local people in Sussex shared online access to records and data through three digital enabler projects:

  • Plexus, an e-record platform for GPs, hospital and community teams
  • My Health and Care Record, to help people stay well and manage a condition or treatment
  • Sussex Integrated Dataset, used to analyse how local health and care services can be better designed and run

Our Care Connected supports the public and practitioners as expert partners in the development and co-design of digital health and care services in Sussex.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Sussex Health and Care Partnership's digital enabler programme Our Care Connected (OCC). You will be responsible for effective stakeholder management, planning, delivery, reporting and monitoring of my health and care record (MHCR) projects You will have the opportunity to hold a key role in delivering personal health records in partnership with health and care organisations across the Sussex Integrated Care System (ICS).

The successful candidate is expected to have project management experience and have a working knowledge of Health and care and/ or Digital programmes.

As a project manager, you will:

  • Work alongside the MHCR Capability Lead to ensure that projects are run to a high standard, have clear objectives and are aligned to the aims of Sussex.
  • Maintains an up-to-date awareness of relevant NHS Policy and proposes subsequent required amendments to project policy/practice.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management of identified projects and will be a single point of contact, ensuring delivery of work packages, escalating issues and reporting highlights within the governance process as appropriate.
  • Responsible for formulating a range of complex plans simultaneously for project activities, adjusting timelines as appropriate to comply with evolving requirements and taking into account respondent availability and logistics.
  • Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the relevant project topic, including those relating to clinical and business benefits, to inform relevant others about the project.
  • Provide an important part of the programme's engagement with partner organisations and key stakeholders. Working across and with a range of stakeholders representing the whole system.
  • Collate complex and technical information from a variety of sources e.g. data analytics, data generated through primary research and insight gathered through desk research for formal reporting and presentations.
  • Present complex and technical information clearly and concisely, adapting communication style to meet the needs of a variety of audiences.
  • Produces accurate, relevant and timely oral and written communications to relevant parties such as team members, senior managers and stakeholders through email, written reports, slide decks.
  • Encourage teams to collaborate, communicate and focus on what is most important.
  • Motivate teams, making sure there is an iterative collaborative build and deploy plan to work towards.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and apply the most appropriate user centric agile and lean tools and techniques.
  • Proactively manage dependencies, overcome obstacles and get the best value within constraints.
  • Provide sound judgment to enable decisions to be made quickly as circumstances.
  • Promote user centred design and Agile methodologies

    Able to demonstrate the following skills/expertise:
  • Minimum of five years recent experience of implementing service impacting health or social care digital change programmes within a large and diverse environment. Experience of working with and facilitating multi-disciplinary groups and managing the impact of large-scale digital implementations.
  • Success in delivering digital projects and products using appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques, learning & iterating frequently. Experience in delivering products built to an appropriate level of quality for the development stage (eg discovery /alpha /beta /production).
  • Experience in successful communication and relationship building between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience of working with product owners and delivery managers to translate user needs and requirements into technical product roadmaps, user stories and use cases for delivery across political and technical boundaries.
