We have an outstanding reputation in our field and our enviable customer base includes around one hundred household names across numerous different industries.


Background and Experience

As a Product Owner in the Digital Function you will be responsible for the vision, roadmap, development and ongoing operation of your Product(s) deployed across the enterprise.


We are looking for 3 Product Owners across the following:

  • Collaboration, Endpoint & Remote Access. Office365, Teams, laptop/desktop build tooling, software distribution & device management, virtual desktops (Citrix).
  • Infosec and Identity. Entra/ Azure AD, Sentinel, Okta, Splunk, Cert management, MFA, Privileged Identity Management.
  • Cloud Service Vending. Azure ACF etc. plus some AWS.


Including but not limited to:

  • You will lead a team of specialists with responsibility for the user satisfaction, value, cost, availability and lifecycle of your products, ensuring duplication, inefficiency and obsolescence is driven out and risk is effectively managed
  • You will establish and maintain excellent relationships with Business Owner(s) and key stakeholder groups for your Products and use those relationships to understand and optimise the value your Products deliver to the organisation.
  • You will work closely with the support and Service Management teams to ensure that your Products are deployed, operated and consumed effectively across the business.
  • You will collaborate with other Product Owners, including those delivering components or platforms that your Products depend on or depend on yours to deliver an integrated, cost-effective service to the organisation and/or its customers.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Product Management: Acts as owner for one or more products or services including standards, methods, tools, etc. Manages their products lifecycles to ensure that, over time, the needs of customers are profitably met. Adapts products and creates product retirement and transitioning strategies.
  • Relationship Management: Identifies the communication needs of each stakeholder group in conjunction with business owners and subject matter experts. Translates communications/ stakeholder engagement strategies into specific tasks. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans. (For example, may oversee the organisation's promotional/selling activities to one or more clients, to ensure that such activities are aligned with corporate marketing objectives). Negotiates with stakeholders at senior levels, ensuring that organisational policy and strategies are adhered to. Provides informed feedback to assess and promote understanding.
  • Performance Management: Manages individuals and groups. Allocates responsibilities and/or packages of work. Provides support and guidance as required, in line with individuals abilities. Delegates responsibilities as appropriate. Advises individuals on career paths and encourages pro-active development of skills and capabilities. Sets performance targets, and monitors progress against agreed quality and performance criteria. Provides effective feedback, throughout the performance management cycle, to ensure optimum performance. Mentors individuals, possibly within other parts of the organisation. Participates, as appropriate, in formal processes such as compensation negotiations and disciplinary procedures.
  • Service Level Management: Ensures that service delivery meets agreed service levels. Creates and maintains a catalogue of available services. In consultation with the customer negotiates service level requirements and agrees service levels. Diagnoses service delivery problems and initiates actions to maintain or improve levels of service. Establishes and maintains operational methods, procedures and facilities in assigned area of responsibility and reviews them regularly for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Innovation: Actively monitors for, and seeks, opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities and products to the advancement of the organisation. Clearly articulates, and formally reports potential benefits from both structural and incremental change. Encourages and motivates colleagues to share creative ideas and learn from failures.
  • Problem Management: Ensures that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services. Ensures that such problems are fully documented within the relevant reporting system(s). Enables development of problem solutions. Coordinates the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures. Analyses patterns and trends.
  • IT Governance: Reviews information systems for compliance with legislation and specifies any required changes. Responsible for ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures and overall information management strategy.


Essential Criteria:

  • Influence: Influences organisation, customers, suppliers, partners and peers on the contribution of own specialism. Builds appropriate and effective business relationships. Makes decisions which impact the success of assigned work, i.e. results, deadlines and budget. Has significant influence over the allocation and management of resources appropriate to given assignments.
  • Complexity: Performs an extensive range and variety of complex technical and/or professional work activities. Undertakes work which requires the application of fundamental principles in a wide and often unpredictable range of contexts. Understands the relationship between own specialism and wider customer/organisational requirements.
  • Business Skills: Advises on the available standards, methods, tools and applications relevant to own specialism and can make appropriate choices from alternatives. Analyses, designs, plans, executes and evaluates work to time, cost and quality targets. Assesses and evaluates risk. Communicates effectively, both formally and informally. Demonstrates leadership. Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives. Takes all requirements into account when making proposals. Takes initiative to keep skills up to date. Mentors colleagues. Maintains an awareness of developments in the industry. Analyses requirements and advises on scope and options for continuous operational improvement. Demonstrates creativity, innovation and ethical thinking in applying solutions for the benefit of the customer/stakeholder.
  • Security Clearance (SC) is required
  • Must be a British National


Desirable Criteria:

  • Extensive (7+ years) detailed experience in IT services within an enterprise level IT environment
  • A Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent), and/or 7+ years relevant technical experience
  • Experience of full-lifecycle accountability for a technology or product domain delivered in a complex business environment
  • Relevant courses/qualifications relating to Product Owner/Manager, Business/Technical Analyst and Agile methodologies
  • Relevant professional qualification as detailed in specific role annex
  • Experience of working in and leading scrum teams in an agile development operating model - Product owner certifications (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner, Product Owner Certification).
  • An ability to turn business strategy into practical direction for a technical team.
  • Awareness and understanding of IT & Corporate systems and solutions, current trends and emerging technologies
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant applications / platforms and product user rights.
  • Practical experience of IT Security Standards
  • Working knowledge of ISO 27001
  • ITIL v4 Certification or equivalent experience of operating in an ITIL Service Management environment
