Job Description: The role of Locum Education Psychologist involves providing psychological advice and support to children and young people, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN), in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Candidates must have significant experience and relevant qualifications, including a PhD or equivalent, and are expected to commit to a minimum of three assessments per month until March 2025. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including parents, schools, and local authorities, to enhance educational quality and support services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychological advice (including statutory advice) to SEN services and other officers for children and young people aged 0 - 25.
- Support communities, schools, parents, children, and young people with psychological advice.
- Contribute to multi-agency support for children and young people.
- Act as a consultant on psychological matters with parents, carers, teachers, and other professionals.
- Collaborate with staff in the Education and Inclusion branch to enhance school effectiveness.
- Prepare and maintain written records.
- Provide statutory advice to local authorities in accordance with the SEN code of practice.
- Attend SEN and disability tribunals as required by the local authority.
Skills Required:
- 5 years of experience as an Educational Psychologist.
- PhD, Doctorate, or Master's in Educational Psychology or equivalent.
- Ability to provide two anonymised reports for submission.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of SEN code of practice.
- Experience in multi-agency working.

Whilst in the role, all reports will be read and checked - critiqued where necessary
You must be able to provide 2 anonymised reports with CV

To contribute to improving the quality of education provided by maintained schools and academies in Hampshire and the Isle of White for children and young people and especially those with SEN by:
