p>We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our Legal team as a Legal Clerk (Childcare). As a Legal Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting childcare solicitors by utilizing a case management system (Iken) to digitally build court bundles and liaise with professionals in the family justice system for evidence gathering.
Responsibilities:
- Digitally build court bundles for childcare cases using the Iken case management system.
- Liaise with professionals in the family justice system to gather evidence effectively.
- Prioritize workload and work within tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Handle multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced office environment.
- Handle sensitive issues with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
- Conduct necessary research quickly and accurately.
- Collaborate effectively within a team of legal clerks, legal assistants, and solicitors.
Requirements:
- A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 'C' or above (or equivalent), including English Language.
- Hold a Law Degree or equivalent OR hold a para-legal qualification OR be in the process of completing a relevant qualification (eg, CILEX level 6 course, Legal Practice Course, or equivalent).
- At least 6 months' experience of court procedures and processes and/or public childcare law/family work.
- Experience using office systems and computer applications such as MS Office suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work constructively in a team and independently when necessary.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Higher academic qualifications.
- Knowledge of local government law and structure.
- Familiarity with childcare, adoption, and/or family law.
- Experience using a paperless digital case management system.
- Enthusiasm and potential for a successful career within local government.
