Lead Data Engineer - Contract Opportunity - ASAP start

This role would suit a Lead Engineer with varied Data Engineering skills, alongside a strong understanding of concepts such as data cataloguing and data formats and selecting languages used within the platform build.

Objectives:
- Develop a highly scalable and secure Cloud Data Platform within AWS, leveraging appropriate AWS services and technologies including AWS Redshift, Athena, Lambda and Glue.

- Work closely with the Technical Architect, Programme Manager and BA to define the approach to migration; identifying opportunities for data consolidation, rationalisation, and standardisation where possible.

- Lead the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration workflows, ensuring the seamless flow of data across various systems and platforms.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data migration processes, system configurations, and best practices. Advocate for best practice within Post Office and share the methodologies used with wider teams.

- Work with the programme manager to recruit and build the data engineering team. Lead the Data Engineering team within the programme, fostering an open and honest team ethos and driving progress forward through leading from the front and providing advice and guidance.
