Exciting Opportunity in Nuclear Fusion Energy Sector - People Policy Expert

Are you a seasoned People Policy professional seeking a challenging role in the cutting-edge field of Nuclear Fusion Energy? Look no further! We have an exceptional opportunity with the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), and we are seeking a dynamic individual to join their team in supporting the transition of policies to the UKIFS People Policy framework.

Role Overview:
As the People Policy Expert, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing policies within the UKAEA, ensuring alignment with industry standards, legal requirements, and organizational culture. Your expertise in policy development, continuous improvement, and collaboration will be instrumental in driving the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Clarify and re-write policies, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
Support the production of a comprehensive People Policy framework for UKIFS.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define policy objectives that meet their needs.
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws and regulations.
Research and incorporate industry best practices into policies.
Align policies with the organization's culture, values, and mission.
Establish regular review schedules to keep policies up to date.
Maintain a well-organized record of policy versions and changes.

Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in policy development and implementation, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
In-depth knowledge of employment law and data security regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Excellent writing skills for creating clear, comprehensive policies and procedures.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
Commitment to staying up to date with industry trends and evolving regulations.

Desirable Skills & Experience:
Experience in policy development within large programmes or joint ventures.
Exposure to both public and private sectors.
Familiarity with regulations, policies, and standards applicable to public sector organizations in the UK.
Project planning and execution skills for policy implementation.
Previous experience working within a startup environment.
