We have an opportunity for you to join our team as a Python/ OO Developer where we aim to push the technology boundaries further providing innovative products while supporting and slowly transitioning out of legacy systems.
Role Description
- Front Office Technology (FX) and software development, deployment, and support of Pricing, eTrading, Market Making, and Trade Booking applications using agile methodologies.
- Work with brokers and external clients to expand the reach of our electronic offerings.
- Support and develop static data and market making tools within FX in line with simplification efforts and desk requirements.
- Function as part of a as part of a high performance team, working on high priority deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders across Technology and Trading, Compliance, Supervision, Risk, Operations, and other support partners.
- Development skills in any OO or Functional language including but not limited to Python (preferred), C#, Java, or C++.
- Knowledge or experience of agile development (e.g. XP, SCRUM, Kanban) and continuing integration.
- Interest in large scale, globally distributed financial systems with an emphasis on high availability.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Must possess a solid degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or relevant analytical degree.
- Interest or ideally an understanding of algorithms, data structures and design patterns including why and where to use them.
- Messaging Middleware concepts, usage and application Experience in TCP/IP networking.
- Candidate must be a strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of contemporary development processes, build environments and testing tools.
- Understanding of 3rd line production support.
- Comfortable in communicating with business users.
- Interest in derivative/Options products and FX.
- Desire to work in the Front Office, preferably in a FX or other Fixed Income or Derivatives Trading environments.
- Interest in FIX Protocol (4.4), FpML or other standard financial models.
- Basic understanding of how you would connect connectivity to third party systems such as broker feeds and trade repositories.
- Knowledge of an SQL or NoSQL database.
- A Self-motivated, hands-on, driven individual.
- The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK
