Automation Test Lead (JavaScript) / £400pd (Outside IR35) / 6 Months / Remote
An Automation Test Lead is required to work for a company that is going through a large transformational programme of work.
Role and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for ensuring the test framework and technical test solution is well scoped, monitored and documented.
You will write automated tests to support projects, driving confidence in software releases.
You will be testing a combination of UI, API, Database, configuration and units of code.
You will keep QA best practice standards up to date, along with supporting documentation for service support, team onboarding/training and ongoing maintenance.
You will also be responsible for analysing bugs across the stack and ensuring that suitable tests are set up to avoid regression and identify the root cause.
You will provide insights with the latest approaches to software engineering and be given the opportunity to improve and update the QA stack as appropriate.
You will participate in regular R&D, using cutting edge tech to prototype innovative approaches to business/technical goals.
Essential Experience:
You have to know what good looks like and be able to build out automation approaches
You have solid experience with Selenium based testing frameworks and be able to build and structure automated test.
You have experience of writing JavaScript & an understanding of object orientated programming.
You will understand and identify Acceptance Criteria with Product Owners and teams.
You have a solid understanding of unit, integration and cross browser testing approaches.
You will have experience on BDD practices and associated tools like SpecFlow.
You have experience of using cross browser testing services like Browserstack Automate or SourceLabs.
You are confident in implementing and testing APIs with Postman, Katalon or similar.
You are able to collaborate with Team Leads to align best practices & QA automation practices.
You have experience with continuous Integration and DevOps tools and practices with a view on Continuous Deployment.
You have experience with basic development tools like git and ADO.
You are able to communicate technical information to non-technical people as needed.
You have a solid understanding of unit, integration and cross browser testing approaches.
You have experience with continuous delivery and DevOps best practices and how QA plays its part.
You have experience with continuous integration practices with a view on how QA can assist with Continuous Deployment strategies.
