We are currently recruiting for a 2nd/3rd Line Engineer, who has proficient skills supporting Microsoft, VMware and Veaam technologies, to join our consulting practice. This would start in early January 2024, for an initial period of 2 months, but may be extended thereafter. You should also ideally be local to the Cheshire area for easy access and commute to the office, however we would be willing to accept remote based candidates if they have the necessary experience and skills for the role.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Practice lead, you will be supporting in the following tasks, not limited to the following:

• Respond to escalated IT support issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Manage and prioritise workload, ensuring SLA's are met
• Provide technical advice and guidance to customers regarding IT-related problems.
• Escalate incidents and requests when support from more senior staff is required
• Monitor and maintain system performance and security.
• Maintain customer documentation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key customers.

The Person:

• Proven, demonstrable experience in a 3rd line support role, ideally from a service desk background.
• Able to work under pressure, adhering to the companies SLA response timeframes.
• Good knowledge of Windows operating systems.
• Strong networking experience including Routers, Switches and Firewalls.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
• Knowledge of virtualisation technologies, ie Hyper-V and VMware.
• Knowledge of Scripting and automation tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven customer service skills.
