Summary: The National Consultant for EdTech at UNICEF in Kathmandu, Nepal, will provide technical assistance in implementing digital learning initiatives aimed at enhancing educational outcomes for children. The role involves overseeing device deployment, training educators on blended learning, and ensuring accessibility of digital content. The consultant will collaborate with various stakeholders to align educational goals and support the development of inclusive digital resources. This position is crucial for advancing UNICEF's mission to improve education through technology in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation, configuration, and deployment of digital devices, ensuring accessibility standards are met.
  • Facilitate the setup of Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems and train local stakeholders on their operation.
  • Design and deliver technical training for teachers and ICT focal persons on using devices and applications.
  • Ensure digital content complies with international accessibility guidelines and is compatible with assistive technologies.
  • Monitor device usage and application engagement, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with government and educational institutions to develop and test accessible digital content.
  • Support the implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS) and gather user feedback for improvements.

Key Skills:

  • Advanced university degree in Education or social sciences relevant to equity and inclusion.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in digital content design, educational technology, and project management.
  • Proven expertise in programming languages such as Java and Python, and managing technical systems like MDM.
  • Experience with assistive technologies and knowledge of accessibility standards in educational content.
  • Strong analytical and data management capabilities, including experience in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and organizations effectively.
