p>As a MASH Social Worker in Nottingham, you'll play a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable children and young people. Working within a dynamic multi-agency team, you'll assess and respond to concerns regarding child welfare, collaborating closely with various agencies to ensure a holistic approach to safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Investigation: Conduct thorough assessments of referrals received through the MASH, evaluating risks and needs of children and families promptly and efficiently.
  2. Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with professionals from various agencies such as police, health services, and education to gather and share information for comprehensive assessments.
  3. Risk Management: Develop and implement effective safeguarding plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people.
  4. Communication and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records, drafting comprehensive reports and case notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
  5. Support and Advocacy: Provide support and advocacy for children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are addressed.
  6. Continuous Professional Development: Stay updated with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in child protection, attending training sessions and contributing to your professional development.

Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification: Accredited Social Work qualification (e.g., BA, MA, or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience: Proven experience in child protection, preferably within a MASH or similar setting.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of child development, safeguarding procedures, relevant legislation, and risk assessment frameworks.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of building rapport with diverse individuals and collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
  • Resilience and Empathy: Resilience in handling challenging and sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
