Role Title: QA Tester

Location: hybrid role 1 day per week in Corsham

Duration: 6 Months

Pay: hybrid role 1 day per week in Corsham (IR35)

About the Role

The resource is expected to perform manual and (optionally) automation testing in validating data sources, extraction of data, applying transformation logic, and loading data into target tables, working closely with data engineering functions to ensure a sustainable test approach.

We are looking for someone with the ability to see the 'bigger picture' for automation frameworks and testing across multiple products.

Testing Skills (some, if not all, desirable)

• Experience in testing data validation scenarios and Data ingestion, pipelines, and transformation processes (e.g.,ETL).
• An understanding of big data engineering tools and how they can be used strategically (e.g.PySpark, Hive, Hadoop, Cloudera, Stackable.tech).
• Experience in working with Apache NiFi, Apache PySpark 2.4, Hive QL, Power BI, Kibana and Apache Superset.
• Proven experience using Data Lake / Delta Lake technologies.
• Demonstrated strong experience of working with MS SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Demonstrated experience of working with automated testing tools.
• Experience work with large data sets
• Experience with data ingestion pipelines, data processing and Data outcome validations.
• Demonstrated experience of automating tests across multiple platforms and technologies and understand its application throughout the full development lifecycle. (nice to have)
• Demonstrated experience of hands-on Issue and Defect Management.
• Experience in testing systems that capture, verify, and maintain field generated metadata. Familiarity with multiple back-end and databases, database design and APIs.
• Experience of Agile Software Development & Testing methods.
• Strong experience in SQL with experience in extracting and manipulating data
• Hands-on experience with data ingestion, cleaning, verifying and validating processes
• Commercial experience within the Azure-cloud - particularly Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse
• Data visualisation experience using PowerBI
• Experience with Python, Spark or PySpark is highly desirable
