Quality Assurance Engineer/Tester - Oracle ERP - Cheltenham/Hybrid

The QA Engineer will be an integral part of our Digital Transformation Team as my client seeks to transform its Central Functions. The QA Engineer will be responsible for the overall quality of the products being developed and delivered, ensuring all guidelines are adhered to and defect rates are minimal and execution of deployments are of high quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilise Agile practices and principles to ensure high quality products and services to customers
• Creates and utilises standardised test scripts and maintains the quality of the scripts are aligned to business processes and updated where relevant after releases
• Reviews all documents produced by the squad teams and ensures they are accurate
• Works closely with the Product Owner and Sponsors to agree acceptance criteria which is relevant and suitable for the products, clarifying the scope and defining the approach to test activities and producing appropriate test cases
• Collaborates closely with the development teams to ensure new features are tested extensively and defects raised and addressed in agreed timelines
• Responsible for test execution using a variety of techniques including static, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
• Review technical specifications and design documents match with the test cases and are relevant to the product features and aligned to the actual user requirements
• Estimate, prioritise, plan and coordinate quality test activities
• Monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards
• Be aware of product changes, keeping abreast of development activities and updating test cases/plans accordingly
• Critical player in deployment activities, making sure voice is heard when errors might cause serious impact to the deployment
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Liaise with internal teams (eg developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
• Monitor debugging process results
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions

Experience

• Good skills and knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
• Experience in software quality assurance
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Hands-on experience with both White Box and Black Box testing
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Experience within the Healthcare Industry
• Creating automated test scripts to reduce manual load
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
• Solid knowledge of SQL and Scripting
