We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager on an outside IR35 contract basis. This individual will be responsible for delivering agreed outcomes from projects using a wide range of project management techniques, collaboration, leadership, and governance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both predictive (plan-driven) and adaptive (iterative/agile) project management approaches and be capable of selecting the appropriate techniques and life cycle models based on the context of the project.


Responsibilities

  • Project Management Techniques: Apply various project management methods appropriately, ranging from predictive to adaptive approaches.
  • Team Collaboration: Establish effective team structures and foster a collaborative working environment to ensure project success.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and continuous communication with stakeholders, ensuring awareness of business needs and priorities.
  • Visual Tracking: Utilize visual techniques for effective project tracking and reporting.
  • Time Management: Implement timeboxing and incremental deliveries to manage project timelines efficiently.
  • Deliverables and Milestones: Define clear deliverables, milestones, and dependencies for project tasks.
  • Change and Risk Management: Apply rigorous change control and risk management processes to anticipate and mitigate potential issues.
  • Resource Management: Acquire necessary resources and skills, managing constraints of cost, timescales, quality, and scope.
  • Quality and Review: Ensure projects are formally closed and reviewed, incorporating lessons learned into future projects.


Qualifications

  • Certification: Prince2 or equivalent project management qualification is required.
  • Experience: Prior experience working within the defense space and/or with security clearance companies is preferred. A strong general infrastructure background is essential to flex across various project types.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to provide effective leadership to project teams, adopting appropriate project management methods and tools.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills for regular and accurate updates to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to manage the change control process, assess and manage risks, and ensure project deliverables meet agreed standards.
  • Organizational Impact: Understanding of project size, complexity, and factors influencing project complexity is crucial.

The end client is a leading organization with 8,000 employees in the UK and continues to grow. The successful candidate will be working closely with key IT stakeholders, including the Projects Portfolio Lead, Head of IT Projects Delivery, Head of IT Commercial, Head of IT Enterprise Architecture, and the CIO, to drive project success across the organization.


This is an outside IR35 contract position, and the Project Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects within the agreed parameters.
