Lead on planning and overseeing projects to deliver an effective Election Service.

To deputise for the Head of Electoral Services, where appropriate. -

Day to day management of the electoral services team, including undertaking performance management reviews, annual appraisals and regular one to ones, in line with the Council's policies. - Ensure the Elections Team is appropriately resourced to the support the delivery of up-and-coming Elections. - Taking a lead role in the production of project plans/programme plans, risk registers and other related documents, including presenting these when required at the Council's Election Programme Board (EPB) and other meetings - Leading on specific aspects of elections and referendums which could include projects such as count management; postal voting (issue and opening); recruitment/staffing (including ensuring relevant HR policies and HMRC requirements are met); staff training; polling place management; nominations - Produce, update, and maintain procedures within the electoral services team, ensuring these are challenged as part of continual improvement and innovation of service functions, and that procedures are cost-efficient - Working with the Head of Service and Finance to ensure budgets are monitored, services are delivered within budget and relevant election accounts are produced on time - Other duties as required
