Morson are currently recruiting a Project Manager for an opportunity for Thales in Crawley, as a project manager on the in service support of Crowsnest. As part of the Department ISR Radar and Product Support you will be responsible for providing core project management and team leadership in the delivery of critical work packages in support of the Crowsnest programme.

You will have ownership for the successful delivery of both the Retrofit Programme and all Repair activities across Crowsnest D&M and ISS. We re ideally looking for someone with experience of managing in service support projects in the Aerospace and Defence industry. The team is onsite in Crawley 4 days a week and we re expecting a 6-month contract however there is opportunity for extension.

Primary Responsibilities

• Schedule: Ownership for the end to end schedule of the retrofit programme and its successful delivery. Management of all repair activities and co-ordination across D&M and ISS.


• Financial: Own all Retrofit and repair work packages against material and labour. Provide support to financial meetings.


• Team Leadership in a matrix organisation


• Resources: Team organisation and leadership, identification of resource risks and succession planning. Support to S&OP.


• Risk and Opportunity: Manage identification, quantification and mitigation plans


• Internal and external reporting activities including schedule, metrics, tracker and performance.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Experience in delivery of complex support programmes


• Qualifications Degree / HNC / Equivalent experience

Desirable Skills and Experience Required

• Solid understanding of Project Management principles


• Experience in delivering projects / work packages - Ideally within a similar military / aviation sector


• Good understanding of Through Life Support contracts and in particular Repairs and Spares


• The ability to motivate resources to achieve critical deliveries


• A critical eye for detail to ensure the successful project delivery


• Financial and Resource management and acumen


• Build customer trust

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
