We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead a new programme/s to implement nurturing education on a large scale. The charity has been working with schools for many years, to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people by removing barriers to learning and promoting nurture in education.

This role offers flexible and hybrid working.

Position: Programme Manager

Location: Remote/flexible

Salary: 37,800 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (flexible)

Duration: Fixed-term for 2 years

About the Role

The Charity believe that every child should be able to learn. They promote a whole-school approach to inclusion that focuses on removing barriers to learning. They deliver a range of training, tools and resources to professionals, empowering them to deliver evidence-based interventions and support to vulnerable children and young people affected by social, emotional and mental health needs and behavioural difficulties. The charity has recently won funding to deliver several large-scale programmes reaching schools across England.

In particular, you will be responsible for leading one or more large-scale programmes to develop nurturing education, leading on programme management (including budget management and reporting), maintaining strong relationships with funders and contract managers, coordinating engagement with schools, coordinating a delivery team, and assessing the impact of managed programmes.

Your main duties will include:

  • Programme management and budget management
  • Coordinating engagement and delivery
  • Leadership, people management and teamwork
  • Assessing programme impact

The role requires an individual who has direct experience of working across a broad range of the specialist areas of responsibility identified above.

If you lack specific personal experience of working in a particular area, you would be expected to demonstrate evidence to support your potential to do so and an understanding of the factors that will drive success.

You must be able to lead in a rapidly changing internal and external environment to ensure the organisation can maximise the opportunities and manage the challenges it faces.

Education, experience and knowledge:

Significant experience working in a management position in all or most of the areas of:

  • Experience of managing large-scale projects or programmes
  • Experience of working with schools or within the education sector
  • Experience of line management and managing contractors
