Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary
This role will be dedicated to the South East Wales Corporate Joint Committee. The CJC is a new public body, which is at an exciting time in its development as it prepares to transition from having an Accountable Body (Cardiff Council) to holding assets and contracts in its own name. An interim contracts and procurement lawyer is needed to assist with the transition. They will be part of a small but highly performing in-house legal team, reporting directly to the Monitoring Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Technically competent contracts and procurement lawyer who is also able to actively manage the contract forward plan and work closely with instructing officers and procurement colleagues.
- Previous experience of working in a Welsh local authority, or combined authority, may be helpful but is not essential.
