The Position

The duties you will be performing as part of your role:

  • Develop and implement an innovative Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) strategy and program, aligning with the Council's goals and fostering cultural change.
  • Lead the delivery of the ED&I agenda, ensuring the integration of Learning & Development, Staff Engagement, and project management, while supporting the Council's strategic and operational plans.
  • Provide expert guidance to HR and council leaders in cultivating an inclusive culture, and enhancing performance management, leadership, colleague engagement, and development.
  • Collaborate with the HR Team and OD to play a pivotal role in the ambitious organizational EDI program, shaping people management frameworks and championing colleague development.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within the Council and collaborate effectively with HR & OD colleagues.
  • Drive a council-wide culture change program through an EDI lens, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to tailor EDI programs to meet organizational needs.
  • Assume the role of Line Manager for the EDI Officer, conducting regular one-to-ones and appraisals, and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Manage and lead the EDI team in accordance with council policies and procedures, ensuring efficient and effective execution of the EDI program.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Postgraduate Degree in HR or a Business-related subject.
  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in a Learning-related subject.
  • Comprehensive Change Management Experience.
  • Proven Project Management Experience.
  • Extensive Learning and Development Experience.
  • Substantial Leadership and Management development Experience.
  • Demonstrated EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) experience.
  • Proficient Coaching Experience.
  • All at a senior level within a complex organisation.
  • Track record of delivering numerous projects on time and within budget.
  • Significant knowledge and experience in change management.
  • Significant knowledge and experience in learning and development.
  • Proven experience of working in a similar role.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of good practice, current thinking, trends, and developments in EDI.

Contract Duration: 3 Months (likely extension)

Hourly Rate: 35 Per Hour (Umbrella)

Commencement Date: January/February 2024

Work Hours: Hybrid! 37 Hours, Monday - Friday / 9 am - 5 pm
