Role: Payroll Testing Analyst
Location: Peterborough
Duration: Interim 6 months
Salary: up to 275p/d UMB rate - dependant on experience
Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Payroll Testing Analyst to join our client based in Peterborough on a 6-month interim contract, working on a hybrid basis.
The duties of the Payroll Testing Analyst include:
- Maintain accurate records and prepare written communications to customers and other organisations to obtain information
- Respond to enquiries effectively and efficiently
- Be familiar with all aspects of the organisation's Payroll system and procedures
- Undertake general housekeeping of the payroll system, to ensure that the system integrity and security is maintained
- Ensure accurate staff records are maintained and he payroll system is updated to reflect changes in personal data that affect pay calculations such as sickness, and maternity pay
- Process payroll data including new starters and leavers, mileage, and overtime claims to meet monthly deadlines
- Issue monthly payslips
- Ensure that the data help is sufficient and in a format that meets legislative requirements for reporting and annual returns for HMRC, National Insurance etc.
- Produce and issue relevant tax forms such as P45, P60 forms to employees in accordance with HMRC requirements
- Testing of scripts on Unit 4/Agresso
- Test and implement alterations to the system as required
- Collect any evidence on test scripts to support audit processes
The Payroll Testing Analyst ideally should have:
- Experience within a local government organisation
- Understanding and experience of payroll and pensions processing and legislation
- Experience in testing scripts as part of system implementation
- Experience with Unit 4/Agresso
The Payroll Testing Analyst will need to have excellent communication skills and effectively be able to communicate to stakeholders of all levels. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have an impeccable eye for detail and accuracy to ensure all workload is carried out effectively and efficiently. They will also need to able to prioritise their workload and be efficient and effective to meet unpredictable deadlines and deal with conflicting demands, whilst working in a high-pressured environment.
